Birthday week

Well this week has been very eventful!! Yesterday, we went to uncle mike and Connie's for a family gathering.  We went swimming, and played in the back yard.  She met a bunch of cousins, and played with baby Xavier! He is such a sweetie, but he was kind if violent with me! Sammy had her second birthday cake, and once again, instead of digging into it, she went for her spoon.  My girl is so big!  Today my parents drove us down to Cincinnati to spend time with the mills family.  I love them to death, but I miss my mom.  I really hope we can get some one year pictures taken this week. I'll post them when we do!

Sammy is 1!

Well everyone, we are here in Michigan.  Yesterday was my baby girl's first birthday! I can't believe I'm the mom of a one year old! Oh, how time flies so fast.  She did so good, she met the entire Mills family in the morning and early afternoon, then there were TONS of people in my mom's house for her birthday party.   When we put her in the high chair and put the cake in front of her, she didn't do what everyone expected, instead, she actually took the spoon and tried to eat the cake with the spoon!!! My lil girl is so stinking smart!!!  Then she had her first sippy cup filled with whole milk.  She had a cute little milk mustache.  Poor girl was so tired by this point though, she hardly had any energy to open all her presents.  She got lots of fun stuff! There were so many people there!

Thank you so much to everyone that came and made my daughter's first birthday so memorable.  I will never forget it, even though she will.  She will always know that everyone was there for her on her special, first birthday!

Fathers Day

Today we celebrated fathers day!  Sammy had her own bowl of macaroni and cheese and a side of broccoli.  I think she actually liked the broccoli more than the mac and cheese.  Anyway, whether the food was good, or bad, we spent the day together, as a family.  Samantha, you have the goofiest, most loving daddy a girl could ask for.  We are both so blessed to have him in our lives.  We love you Ezra Mills.

Little birdie

Today we all went for a walk around our neighborhood because it was such a beautiful (but insanely hot) day.  We had just gotten around the block when ez saw a little baby bird.  He decided to help it so it wouldnt get stuck in the road, because he was too little too fly.  His feathers were still fluffy! So ez caught him and tool him to safety! I love my hubby.

Uncle Evie

Today uncle Evan came for his last visit to our house, probably ever.  He leaves for Germany in a few weeks, and by the time he gets home, we won't be at Fort Hood anymore.   He brought Sammy a keyboard for her birthday, and she was very excited, she likes to bang on the keys!  I think she's going to be a computer nerd like her daddy and her uncle Evie.  We are going to miss Evan so much while he's in Germany, but we know he's going to have a great time, and God is going to do great things through him while he's there.  I know when he comes home, Sammy is going to run to him and say "Uncle Evie, I missed you!!" She really loves him, I think she's going to miss him too.  We love you Evan!

Swimming

Today Sammy decided she wanted to go for a swim.  I was outside, checking the water in our little inflatable pool, emptying a little bit out, when she crawled over to it and crawled in.  Clothes, diaper and all.  What a little trouble maker! Needless to say, it was 100 degrees out and she wanted to cool off I guess.  This little girl never ceases to surprise me.  Oh how I adore her so.  

First oreo!

Last night Sam had her very first oreo! I think she liked it because she brought it into the bath tub with her! I don't know how I didn't notice that she had it in her hand, but I didn't, and now there are oreo crumbs all over the tub!

In The Beginning

On June 22nd 2010, Samantha Grace entered the world.  She was born at Darnall Army Medical Center at 12:46 pm.  She weighed 6lbs 3oz, and was 19 1/4 inches long.  She was a week early, and she was definitely in a hurry! She was born without any pain meds at all!!! Her mommy is so tough!  The day she was born, Shayla Davison was there, and so was Uncle Evan.  He drove all the way from Abilene, Texas to meet her when she was born.  Later that night, my mom and dad showed up at the hospital.  They were so excited to meet her! They stayed with us for a week, and then Nana and Papa came down from Florence, Kentucky. We had family pictures taken with the whole Mills family! It was another great week! Samantha Grace, you are the most beautiful baby I've ever seen, I love you more than anything.

As I write this now, my little Sammy is almost a year old.  Time goes by too fast, and I wouldn't change a minute of it!
